The Academic college host of laboratories should keep all equipment current and fully operational to achieve learning outcomes of the courses and programs  and meet academic accreditation standards.

Statement :

Academic college laboratories should be kept full of functional equipment by upgrading or replacing equipment in the academic units every year. Obsolete equipment should be retired to make room for new equipment.

Procedure :

Academic colleges develop proposals for laboratory equipment upgrades. Set aside annual university budgets should allow for upgrades and replacement of equipment. Proposals should identify technical specifications, planning and timeline for deployment. Purchasing should facilitate the acquisition of upgrades/replacement of equipment.
